Product Development In recent years mobile data networks and mobile computers have evolved considerably. Mobile carriers continuously improve the speed, in-building coverage and reliabilty of their networks. Suppliers of mobile computing devices, such as  Intermec and Motorola, offer a wider range of rugged products to suit all types of mobile workforces.

InterDev realised that much of this evolution had been focused on the large masses of retail consumers, with games, personal messaging, online web browsing, music and entertainment being the main themes. The business market was being neglected. Little focus was being given to the complex needs of commercial organisations when considering the utilisation of the network and device attachments, hence opening an opportunity for someone to provide specialised software solutions to this market.

As a result, Interdev was incorporated to conduct research and development to deliver innovative software integration solutions for the commercial world, firstly focussing on a software ‘middleware’ package now known as Xmotion^®. This allows InterDev to offer a product oriented solutions approach to its customers in addition to its professional services.  Further development of the Xmotion product suite has extended the application into a range of industries including Transport and Logistics, Healthcare, Utilities and Retail Distribution.
